Which CNC Port is best for your application?
V2, V3 and V4 cylinder head ports share the same intake and exhaust port profiles. While combustion chambers differ. The V2 cylinder head porting does not include a combustion chamber modification utilizing the stock 19 CC combustion chamber, the V3 cylinder head porting includes a 19.5 CC combustion chamber profile, and the V4 cylinder head porting includes a 20 CC combustion chamber profile. WSI uses these combustion chamber modifications to maximize directional airflow to the intake and exhaust ports, and can be utilized to customize effective compression ratio with the use of the WSRD High Compression 10.5:1 and 12.5:1 Piston options (details below), among other design features.
V2 Combustion Chamber; (Stock Combustion Chamber)
WSI V3 Combustion Chamber; (10.5:1 CR Pistons are standard with E85 only applications)
WSI V4 Combustion Chamber; (12.5:1 CR Pistons should only be used with E85 & methanol applications)
Also note, all solid bucket cylinder head packages will come with the following Valve Lash Specs:
These solid bucket specs will be configured prior to shipping, this is why WSRD requests your camshaft housing assembly, and camshaft choice to be supplied with your cylinder head core. Once you have received the cylinder head, and it has been torqued to the engine block, WSRD asks that you re-verify these valve lash specs. Once this has been measured, if a replacement shim is needed, WSRD will supply this to you for the proper lash specification. After you have gotten your new engine, or cylinder head up to operating temperatures, bled the cooling system, and have done your initial oil change, WSRD asks that you verify the valve lash spec for the final time before use. Please let WSRD know if you have any questions.
