When running as much boost as most SXS's do, it is crucial to have a well-functioning BOV to help eliminate the backpressure the turbo compressor wheel sees each time you chop the throttle. By blowing off that pressure before it all hits the compressor wheel, it will keep your turbo living longer and can help save you from a costly turbo failure.
